Organic Search Engine Optimization Requires Natural Growth

Search engine optimization is a concept in which few people have a firm grasp. The methods used by search engines to rank pages and position websites in the search is now considered secretive. While manipulation is still attempted, many companies opt for the organic search engine optimization.

Just as in all things, organic search engine optimization can have no artificial chemicals to help it grow and has to have been planted in a growth medium free of artificial fertilizers. Often referred to as the white hat approach, organic search engine optimization will not utilize keyword spamming or unrelated search keywords attempting to manipulate search results. Basically, it is search engine optimism in its purest form.

In the beginning, search engines counted on webmasters to let them know what subjects were on the pages of their sites through meta tags. This list of words would be fed to the search spiders, which would copy the pages and index the tags. When a search word was keyed in, the engine would reference the tags in its memory and take the visitor to the indexed pages.

Unfortunately, many black hat webmasters would include non-related keywords in their meta tags bringing search engine users results totally unrelated to their search phrase. While meta tags, it is claimed, have little bearing on the search systems being used today, there are some webmasters and programmers who continue to use unrelated search terms, simply to increase the number of page views their pages experience.

Many companies may stop just short of using unscrupulous techniques to increase their page's rankings on search engines. Companies that enlist the help of organic search engine optimization have no fear of their pages being black-listed by the search engines. By programming the coding of the pages that best complement the search engine spiders, these sites can improve their rankings without using paid search word services. While the technology may be more complex, those websites that push the limits of a search engine's tolerance risk alienating themselves from the spiders and end up on the outside looking in.
